Is MySpace Your Pimp?

Musicians and film makers on MySpace should be particularly concerned with the clause in The MySpace Terms & Conditions contract that states:
By displaying or publishing ("posting") any Content, messages, text, files, images, photos, video, sounds, profiles, works of authorship, or any other materials (collectively, "Content") on or through the Services, you hereby grant to MySpace.com, a non-exclusive, fully-paid and royalty-free, worldwide license (with the right to sublicense through unlimited levels of sublicensees) to use, copy, modify, adapt, translate, publicly perform, publicly display, store, reproduce, transmit, and distribute such Content on and through the Services.
In order:
1.) non-exclusive MySpace can screw you...and so can all of MySpace's friends.
2.) royalty-free MySpace doesn't have to pay to screw you.
3.)the right to sublicense through unlimited levels of sublicensees MySpace's friends' friends can screw you.
4.) distribute MySpace can pimp you.
In fact, even my reproduction and interpretation of this contract is probably illegal...

Great Web Design

This guy has a really great site design. As well as functionally displaying his music, it doesn't automatically start playing when you load the site, which is so refreshing after browsing myspace. Secondly, it has a killer game of asteroids integrated into the background so you can play while you listen! It's complete with functional leaderboard! This inspires me, and thus he has earned a place in our sidebar!

Daily Show on iTunes

I take no credit for predicting this one, even though I did post about this on December 6th of last year (I'd link you to it but blogger's search feature SUCKS!) The Daily Show is now available on iTunes for $9.99 per 16 episodes, which works out to about $.60 per commercial-free episode. I've decided that sixty cents is worht an extra nine minutes of my life, you can make your own choice.

Slippery Pete

This guy Peter Stormare, once the notoriously creepy dude in Minority Report, is now doing the hilarious "unpimp your auto" VW commercials. He was also a regular on Prison Break (I think he got killed though) and played "Slippery Pete" on the Frogger episode of Seinfeld and was one of the nihilists in The Big Lebowski. (and Fargo)
