Disgusting

Today I saw a thoroughly disgusting site, a mouse in the metro. I've always thought DC's metro had a higher standard, but apparently I'm wrong. I'm not saying that it's as bad as a big ass rat, but let's not become New York here, alright?

A Note to "All Y'all"

This is a note to all y'all napster-lovin', music-industry-hatin', RIAA-gang-bangin' motha' f***as out there. A $1 legal music download will at the very least get you a song, at the very best, it'll get you a 20-inch iMac, 10 iPods, $10,000 in music and a scholarship at Juilliard in your name. Motha' f***as.

Segways

Today I saw an uncommon sight: A guy riding a Segway. Somehow I'm not surprised that these things never caught on seeing as how their target audience is either the handicapped who can still stand (thus not needing a rascal), or just lazy urbanites. Somewhere between the marketing confusion and the safety recall people lost interest... that, and they cost some thousands of dollars.

Blather Cast Episode One

Here it is, and it is on iTunes too!
It's worthy of note that I was fairly worried when I got the e-mail confirming our iTunes approval. As you know, Forrest and I can get quite roudy sometimes, and in this particular instance that might be construed as a death threat against Hilary Duff (IT WAS NOT! I REPEAT, NOT A THREAT! AND THAT ISN'T A DOUBLE-NEGATIVE, I.E. IT WAS NOT A THREAT!), but I thought the guys at Apple were playing a joke on me when I saw this in my Inbox.

Turns out it read "...Approved Notification" and not "...Approved, Not. Too Weird."

BlatherCast Teaser

Today Forrest and I got together and recorded the first ever Mindlessblather.net BlatherCast, a full-fledged podcast of us blathering on...well, mindlessly. This should be available in the next few days, so keep an ear out! Feel free to drop us a comment about how little you care.

Milla Jovovich, Actress or Superwoman?

Milla Jovovich is will star in Ultra Violet. I don't know much about the plot of this movie, but I know it will be the fifth time she has played a super-human warrior woman. Previous times being Fifth Element, Resident Evil, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, and debatably The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc. There's also yet another sequel to Resident Evil coming, the screenplay for Resident Evil: Afterlife is by Paul W.S. Anderson, of whom I'm a big fan.

If I had that Name.

Tonight I saw an interview with an Afgahni man named Said Akbar. Wow. If I had that name I know just who I'd be for halloween!

It's a trap!

State of the Union (12-Step Program)

President Bush says of The United States "We are addicted to oil." I think it's unwise for President Bush to palm off his addictions on us...I mean, if "We are addicted to oil," than he's the pusher. Honestly I think he's just trying to complete the 12-step program:
1. We admitted we were powerless over oil; that our lives had become unmanageable.
2. Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
8. Made a list of all persons and nations we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
9. Made direct amends to such people and nations wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to oil addicts, and to practice these principles in all our foreign affairs.
